UAE bonus wagering: How to calculate the turnover

The number beside a bonus is only part of the picture: its terms define which funds are multiplied and which wagers count. This guide shows how to read that definition, work out an AED turnover figure, monitor credited play and assess limits before deciding whether an offer belongs in your plans.

Read this before opting in

For education only, this page is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Figures below are made-up examples, not offers available today. Treat gambling as paid entertainment, never as earnings, and keep to an amount you can afford to lose.

Step one: Find the complete promotion rules

Open the detailed conditions first

From your account, open the offer and visit its complete rules before opting in. Note its title, date checked, currency, turnover multiple and expiry. A promotional tile may leave out important limits; if no full rules link appears, request a written copy from customer support.

Keep a dated record

Capture the offer, its full terms and the account's bonus display, and retain the page address and time of capture. The GCGRA advertising standards list eligibility, wagering, deposit requirements, game-credit rates, time limits, winnings caps and maximum stakes among material promotion details for licensed operators.

Step two: Establish which amount the multiple covers

Bonus amount by itself

Some terms use only the bonus as the calculation amount. In that case, enter the bonus value and leave your deposit out. Save the clause that defines the amount next to your working for later reference.

Deposit combined with bonus

Other offers apply the multiple after adding the deposit to the bonus. The resulting turnover can exceed a bonus-only offer with the same advertised multiple. Where the terms do not settle the question, ask support to show the calculation in writing.

Step three: Work out the turnover figure in AED

Turn the terms into a number

Use this calculation: stated base × wagering multiple = qualifying turnover. With a bonus-only base of AED 200 at 20x, the result is AED 4,000 in total stakes that qualify. It does not mean you must deposit another AED 4,000.

One offer amount, different definitions

Compare the results below: only the base wording changes. All amounts are illustrative and are not an operator's current offer or limit.

Hypothetical scenarioCalculation baseRequirementTotal qualifying turnover
Bonus onlyAED 20020xAED 4,000
Deposit plus bonusAED 200 + AED 20020xAED 8,000
Bonus only at a lower multiplierAED 20010xAED 2,000

Account for different game rates

Imagine a target of AED 4,000. If AED 600 of play earns 100% credit and another AED 400 earns 25%, the meter receives AED 700: the latter wagers add AED 100. That leaves AED 3,300. Apply these sample rates only if your own offer specifies them.

Step four: See which play earns credit

How game contribution is counted

A stake of AED 1 may add less than AED 1 to your requirement. Consult the offer's contribution schedule and apply its rate to each eligible wager. If a game has no stated rate, get confirmation from support before relying on it.

Check exclusions and completed rounds

Review the list of barred games or markets, the handling of voids and refunds, and whether a wager must settle first. Account history can show a bet that does not qualify toward the meter if it fails one of the stated conditions.

25% contributionCounter advances by AED 5Recalculate the remaining target before you play

Step five: Note the stake ceiling and expiry

The permitted stake limit

Identify the largest allowed amount per round or wager for as long as the bonus is active. Check your stake against that ceiling whenever it changes. If the summary and detailed terms disagree, request a written explanation.

When the clock begins and ends

Find the start event, finish time and time zone in the rules. Activation, a deposit or crediting the bonus may start the period. Read what happens to the bonus and connected winnings at expiry; a shrinking deadline is never a reason to raise stakes or play longer.

  1. Note the activation time displayed in your account.
  2. Keep the original turnover target and update credited progress after sessions.
  3. Schedule a check-in before expiry instead of setting a goal to chase.
  4. Pass on the offer if its timeframe clashes with your usual limits.

Step six: Monitor the meter ahead of cashout

Work out what remains

Take credited turnover away from the complete target; total stakes in your history are not necessarily all eligible. For instance, AED 4,000 less AED 1,250 credited leaves AED 2,750 in this hypothetical case. Note any mismatch with the account meter rather than betting more to close it.

Review the account before cashing out

Check for a completed bonus or zero remaining turnover and see whether identity verification is still outstanding. Understand the offer's rule for withdrawals during an active bonus. Save the final account screen and transaction reference in case the outcome needs follow-up.

What to know before accepting an offer

Fill in the important details

A large match or bonus figure cannot tell you the full commitment. Use the current terms to answer each question here; skip the promotion if a material point cannot be established.

TermQuestion it answersWhy it matters
Calculation baseBonus only, or deposit plus bonus?Sets the amount you multiply
MultiplierHow many times does it apply?Sets total required turnover
ContributionHow much of your chosen game counts?Changes the actual pace of progress
Eligible games and betsWhat is listed or excluded?Prevents play that does not move the counter
Maximum betWhat is the highest permitted stake?Sets the round or bet ceiling during the promotion
DeadlineWhen does it start and end?Reveals time pressure
Withdrawal capDo the conditions limit bonus-related winnings?Defines the promotion's maximum cashout value
Withdrawal or cancellation effectWhat happens to the bonus and balance?Prevents an unintended account action

Keep useful records together

In a private note, identify the promotion and retain the wagering clause, page link and date. Attach images showing its base, multiple, contribution schedule, expiry and meter. Never include account passwords or one-time sign-in codes.

Compare a bonus-only base with a combined base

Measure the commitment behind the headline

An identical advertised rate can produce very different targets when the calculation bases differ, even doubling the turnover. Work out the full amount first, then weigh the expiry, game credit, stake ceiling and cashout cap against your usual plan.

Reasons to leave an offer unused

Before playing, check the account controls or ask support how to opt out. Walking away is sensible if the base is not defined, your preferred games do not qualify, or the expiry would pressure you to play more.

Keep wagering within your entertainment budget

Set your limit independently

Decide your entertainment spend before looking at bonuses and do not add to it when one is credited. The required stakes may far exceed the opening balance, with no assurance that funds will remain. End play at your pre-set money or time boundary, even if the meter is incomplete.

Ask whether the schedule is realistic

As an illustration, AED 200 at 20x on the bonus over seven days calls for AED 4,000 turnover. Averaged across the period, that is about AED 572 of stakes per day, not a suggested daily spend. Decline if meeting that pace would alter your routine or extend your sessions.

Term-reading errors that can change the result

Not checking what gets multiplied

It is easy to focus on the multiplier and overlook its base. Before doing the arithmetic, write down the terms' definition in your own record instead of guessing which funds count.

Expecting all wagers to earn progress

Contribution percentages, excluded play and settlement conditions can explain why account history and the bonus display differ. Avoid increasing your bets to make up the gap. Find the uncredited rounds and ask support to check the records.

Choose promotions with understandable rules

Look for complete terms

Give preference to offers that plainly spell out the base, multiple, contribution rates, expiry and stake limit. Compare the turnover and possible cashout, not just the match rate. Our casino bonuses guide explains common offer formats before you review a specific set of rules.

Three possible decisions

Opt in only if you understand the material conditions and the calculation fits your normal limits. Resolve open questions first; decline when support cannot clarify them in writing or the offer would change your plans.

  • Review further: Terms are available, the arithmetic is clear and the timeframe works.
  • Ask first: A detail is uncertain and support can settle it before you accept.
  • Pass: Rules are missing, the schedule creates pressure or your games are excluded.

Once the wagering target is met

Check the displayed status first

Your own arithmetic is not the final account confirmation. Ensure the offer is marked complete and the balance appears in the category described by its rules. Save the screen and check the cashout page for any identity documents still requested.

When the figures do not match

Pause play and wait before making another request. Set the target, calculation base, game rates and settled wagers beside the account meter. Then provide support with a concise record and ask them to identify the rule behind the difference.

Simple ways to track and resolve issues

Keep your own progress log

A small spreadsheet or note can list the base, multiple, target, credited amount and outstanding amount. Update it when wagers settle and compare it with the operator's display. Include the contribution rate and round ID to help explain discrepancies.

  1. Transcribe the stated base and multiple.
  2. Work out the target at the outset.
  3. Add credited wagers to your log once settled.
  4. Calculate the outstanding amount by subtracting credit from target.

Collect details before raising a ticket

Pause wagering and preserve what the account currently shows. Use the checks below to identify relevant records. Do not make an extra deposit or wager in an attempt to reset the display.

Bonus rules and safer gambling choices

Turnover conditions do not create profit

A wagering clause is part of a commercial promotion. It neither improves the odds nor protects your balance through the required play. Because further stakes mean further exposure, cancelling an offer or stopping with progress still due may be the right choice.

Respect your stopping point

End the session when your spending or time boundary arrives, or if the offer tempts you to raise stakes or beat the clock. Account limits and exclusion tools may be available. If gambling brings money worries or distress, consult our responsible gambling guide.

  • Do not use money reserved for housing, bills or debt.
  • Do not try to recover a loss with a larger stake.
  • Do not extend a session to finish a requirement near expiry.
  • Seek specialist help if you lose control of time or money.

Questions players often ask

Key points to settle before opting in

Here are concise explanations of turnover calculations and progress tracking. The terms for your current promotion take priority over every example on this page.

Take the amount specified by the promotion as its base and multiply it by 20; the result is the qualifying turnover. The base might be the bonus, or it might combine deposit and bonus, so verify the wording before comparing targets.
